It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to create her newest gem.

Originally famous as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort is debatable.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the last Australia's opponents at this World Cup need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have delayed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as leader.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
