"It's a little unusual but then, I love sprinting and just go forward - I'm not defending that much," he added.

"I tell my defender 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to continue running.

"The movement is what I'm after. It's good fun."

In addition to Cisse's six scores on debut, Ireland has netted eight in three games for Wythenshawe, while Boyd hit five on his debut match and Lescott, a defender by trade, scored a hat-trick in one game as a striker.

One opponent, 38, who features on the flank for Collegiate OB, came up against former Wigan defender Figueroa on Sunday - and had to tell his nine-year-old boy who Emile Heskey was.

"The news was going round like wildfire they had all these former top-flight stars," said Barrow.

"I think I was a little starstruck facing him to be honest.

"Even Emile [Heskey] got on and he's has over 60 England appearances.

"We really have not ceased talking about it - I was phoning my mum and sibling on the way home.
